Aunty Aasha reddy

Aunty Aasha reddy( tenzin Yangchen) is a simple, sincere person with a deep love and passion so deep that she has dedicated her life to the Tibetan people, young and old. She was introduced to the Tibetan people in 2001 and pain and suffering touch her so deeply that her work continues to this day uninterrupted, with an increased commitment with each passing year.

Aunty’s efforts to make a difference in the journey ahead are reflected in her involvement in coordinating several awareness programmes and protests by the various Tibetan groups.Following are some of the Tibetan activities organised in India where she was actively involved wearing different hats as a participant, a guide, an advisor and finally as a staunch supporter.

Tsam MILES FOR FREE TIBET-2001

Cycle rally from Chennai to kanyakumari, aunty and her daughter Anjana accompanied the 65 students on the 14 day cycle rally and worked with TSAM to arrange in advance free accommodation. She also invited Chief Guest actor Suriya and actress Khusboo to flag off the rally.

TSAM Peace March-2002

She accompanied 100 TSAM members from Chennai to Pondicherry. Aunty helped in arranging free accommodation , cultural programs and press meets at every halt.

Tsunsmi Relief work- 2004

In Chennai where she coordinated with Indian NGOs and help students From varnasi and TSAM volunteers for the relief work in the fishing Village of Kalpakkam. Then Kalon tripa Samdhong Rinpoche visited the Relief camp.

TSAM Rangzen Rolling Trophy for Basketball-2004

It was conceived and initiated by Aunty Asha and her family.

ART IN EXILE

Aunty invited four talented Tibetan painters from dharamsala for an Exhibitation and sale of their              paintings in Chennai. Pamdashree Thota Tharani a famous artist inaugurated the exhibition.

Every year she helped number of Tibetan students looking for admission In Chennai and successfully helped them to secure a admission.
